Mork Borg 32mm Multipart Miniatures Cast In Rotten Resin

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Production has started
over 1 year ago – Fri, Oct 28, 2022 at 12:10:58 AM

All the splitting and repairs are done and long rows of moulds are being filled with resin!

We're looking at casting around 50000 individual sprues to turn into roughly 28000 miniatures.

I will post the next update when we have cast about 30% of the minis. Some issues might still appear (nasty undercuts, it's almost always a nasty undercut), but we seem to be getting better at catching those early.

The next update will drop in 6-8 weeks from now but certainly before Christmas.

Cheers,

Kawe

The 'A Dreadful Mourning Day' update
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 14, 2022 at 02:41:53 AM

Hi everybody,

This is just a quick status update as the MB crew was expecting this to be done already. Pelle says "The adventure is written. Round 1 of editing is done. Round 2 (will take 1-3 days) and layout is underway so Sept 21th still looks good!"

So yes, we should be able to share this with you by the end of September and we're well excited about it!

It's rather quiet on the miniatures production front ATM as we're fulfilling the projects that came before MB for the next 4-6 weeks. The next steps for MB will be to test the production moulds (sometimes a cape comes out a bit thin, etc). I expect this to result in 1 or 2 more rounds of iterations (filling in nasty undercuts, thickening certain parts) in order to get the minis ready, and I will make a comprehensive update concerning the miniatures production status in about 5 weeks.

Cheers!

Fulfilment schedule, insights and Adrian
over 1 year ago – Tue, Aug 02, 2022 at 11:12:32 PM

Dear backers,

This update is about the latest developments, where we are with organizing the remaining work load, and about the fulfilment schedule.

Index:

1. Fulfillment schedule update (short version: we expect to fulfill this campaign in February / March 2023)

2. Mork Borg Miniatures, our biggest project so far (bigger, better, but certainly not faster)

3. No surprises (Because of 'made in the USA')

4. Say hi to Adrian

5. Pre-order store closure

6. Resin colour

1. As mentioned above, we’re having to add more time for the fulfillment. The reason for this is that we’re currently in the process of fulfilling projects that came before Mork Borg Miniatures and one of them required some fixes on the production masters, similar to what we’ve seen here in MB in update nr.28. With those delays and a buffer, we expect to finish the production in February / March 2023. Sorry about this knock-on effect! I can safely say that the very intricate multi-part resin miniatures require an entirely different level of attention than most of the miniatures that we’ve made before.

2. MBM is our biggest project so far. The size of it, about 4 times that of our more successful projects, made it necessary to look for extra help, especially pre-fulfillment. This should be no issue as the bagging, sorting and QA will all happen at the Wyrmforge HQ. But that’s a good example for the kind of unforeseen and yet manageable complexity we’re dealing with.

3. Our production and fulfillment partner, Wyrmforge, is based in the USA. That makes it a bit more expensive on our side, but we get approved product, and we can be sure that there will be no delays or extra charges related to shipping.

4. Adrian will join the casting team! He already has prior experience in the field and is a most welcome addition to the team. And yes, he’s got that job because of the towering madness that is MBM!

5. The pre-order store for MBM will close in one week from now.

6. So - is everybody ok with sickly green as resin colour?

Please let us know if you have questions and / or suggestions, the next update should come soon and it will include the release of the ‘A dreadful Mourning Day’ PDF from the Swedish gang.

Thank you!

Of miniature masters and adventures!
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Jul 04, 2022 at 11:59:36 PM

Hi everybody,

A lot has happened in the rot pits and I am here to share the latest news with you!

+ Master making for the Add-On’s

Some of the add-on’s were sculpted during and after the campaign. They’re with the caster and he’s done a review which resulted in a request for some modifications on some of them. The 4 masters in questions have been sent back to Boris and he will do what is necessary to get them ready for casting. Important note: These changes might result in a slightly altered appearance, but we’re obviously trying hard to stick close to the original concepts that haven been shared here. If you like a better idea what the requested changes are, then please visit this link. Google Docs Link

+ Fulfilment schedule

Apart from the 4 minis above we have made all the production masters. I’d hope that the process of sending minis forth and back between Poland and the US, as well as sculpting the requested changes will take no longer than 6 weeks, but this MIGHT push the general schedule back. I have no confirmation on this yet as the casters might be able to organize their workflow in a way that allows us to fulfill during December. I will keep you updated!

+ A Dreadful Mourning Day

Pelle is done writing the new adventure and Johan + the editor are digging into it. This should be ready late July/early August.

I will make updates about 1. The Dreadful Mourning Day release, 2. Pictures of the changes as explained above, 3. The confirmation regarding the fulfillment schedule.

Cheers!
